The statutory working week in Slovakia may not exceed 40 hours. Depending on the type of work, normal working hours may range from 37.5 to 40 hours a week. Employees normally work 5 days a week. The work break is oft 30 minutes. Working overtime is not customary and employees are entitled to compensation for working overtime, on top of their normal wage. The average weekly work time (including overtime), must not exceed 48 hours.
