Results oriented leader with general management, sales leadership, new product introduction, geographic expansion and business development experience, in Diagnostics (EU), Pharmaceuticals (Belgium), Water Utilities Privatizations (Argentina and Mexico, where I turned around a situation of potential close down) and finally Life Sciences (responsibility for Eastern Europe, Africa and Middle East).

Major Achievements

First example (routes to market): In my last role of Export Director, life sciences, for the Emerging Markets (60+ distributors to look after between my 6 specialized Export Sales Managers, my Export support staff and myself), I identified the best options for the future for each of the markets and changed accordingly the historic arrangements, while maintaining the team motivation up: ~ Direct in country presence and termination of the distributors in Poland and Turkey, national distributors in Israel and South Africa instead of regional ones, hybrid options for Czech Republic and Hungary, multi-countries distributors for smaller markets, specialized distributors for specific parts of the wide product range, all with the objective to be as close as financially sustainable from the end users, to better understand their needs, increase our competitiveness and maximize the business results. ~ This re-structure has been a key driver in doubling the Export sales between 2008 and 2016. ...................................................................................................................................................................................................... Second example (persistence and leadership): In my role of Managing Director, water services for 1/4 of Mexico DF, I obtained, after 5 years of intense negotiations with the City's officials (including the presentation and defence of a Court case), the justified lump sum payment and price adjustments required by the Company to avoid its financial collapse and to continue providing its services in the future in sound economic terms. ~ Maintaining, during these 5 years of continuously increasing financial difficulties, the cohesion of the 170 core staff, their faith in a promising future and their focus on continuing providing a better service than competition (which has been at the end one of the main reasons why the company was rescued), while cutting more than 100 non-core internal roles and many field subcontractors, as well as all expenses not directly related to the immediate survival of the company, has indeed been a challenging leadership task.
