I am an expatriate Scot currently based in Durban, South Africa, and have been operating as a freelance IT specialist since 1997 after leaving formal employment. I do local and international assignments, usually in a senior Interim/Contract IT project or ICT management position.

Major Achievements

I recently completed a network renewal project in Woldia University, Ethiopia, involving creating a data centre, implementing a blown fibre, UTP, Laser optical and WiFi network. To be complemented by a software refresh of basically everything. I have been everything from a R&D programmer to applications programmer to DP Manager to IT salesman, to ICT Bid Manager, to IT Director of two Universities in the Eastern Cape of SA. For the Ealabhan start-up, I worked as an out-and-out teccie selling, installing and supporting PC and SMME network hardware and software.
